Claim Example for Farm and Ranch Umbrella
A cow wandered out of its stable and was able to make its way past an electric fence. The cow was struck by an oncoming car on a nearby roadway and caused severe damage to three vehicles and bodily injury to all of those involved in the accident.
During the court case it was determined that one of the drivers of the car had actually hit the fence previous to the horse escaping and was the reason the situation occurred in the first place. The farm owners defense cost were eroded during the trial. Luckily the insured had purchased an umbrella policy and did not have any further out of pocket expenses.
